Josh Heuker of Lima, Ohio was awarded Therapist of the Year for his excellence in communication and patient advocacy. He thinks creatively and outside of the box, identifying community resources for patients that have established Interim HealthCare as a sought-after agency to refer physical therapy patients to. Heuker was also commended for his determination that inspires patients to reach their goals. Recently, he worked with a patient who had been chairbound for three years, and with his persistence and encouragement, this patient is now able to travel short distances with the help of a walker. According to colleagues and patients, this story is one of many regarding Heuker’s exemplary work.

Melissa Warner of Greenville, South Carolina was named Paraprofessional of the Year for consistently demonstrating integrity and making choices that put the needs of her patients first. Warner is always eager to take on new responsibilities and opportunities. Over the course of her year and a half with Interim HealthCare, she has proactively learned new skills to up-level her work by attending additional training classes. One training session helped her learn scheduling and weekend on-call responsibilities, ensuring patients receive consistent coverage during off-hours. Additionally, she is known to go above and beyond for her patients, such as using her previous catering experience to make home-cooked meals for them.

“Interim HealthCare is proud to honor Josh Heuker and Melissa Warner as our 2024 Therapist and Paraprofessional of the Year, respectively,” said Paul Mastrapa, CEO of Interim HealthCare. “Their commitment to their patients and communities is a model for our offices across the nation to follow.
