Practitioner Profile
Tara Benson
Tara is our Palliative care nurse practitioner in Green Bay and is a passionate advocate for this much needed service. See what she has to say about why she loves what she does.
"I love palliative care because it allows me the opportunity to spend quality time with my patients and their families when developing a treatment plan. Palliative care patients often have a complex medical history and suffer from serious illnesses.
I’m able to get to know my patients on a more personal level giving me a better understanding of the challenges they face or the symptoms impacting their quality of life. Having the ability to collaborate with so many facets of the medical community makes me a stronger provider and challenges me to continue growing and learning".
Palliative Care is specialized medical care that focuses on managing symptoms and treating chronic disease, while focusing on the patient and families quality of life.
It is appropriate at any age and at any stage of illness and can be provided along with all treatment options. Palliative Care offers a wide variety of services, which are covered under traditional medical insurance, Medicaid and Medicare Part B.
Patients can be seen in their home, a rehabilitation center, or a long-term care facility. Our Palliative care providers work with your PCP and other specialists to provide holistic care and also help to coordinate doctor visits and medical testing.
